The number of Hungarian tourists in Croatia reached a record this year
By the end of September this year, nearly 696,000 Hungarian tourists spent 3.5 million nights in Croatia, both figures already exceed – by 12 and 9 percent respectively – the numbers registered in the whole of 2019, which is considered a record so far, Ivana Herceg, the director of the Croatian Tourist Board in Budapest, announced on Wednesday at a press conference.
The head of the delegation also reported that the overall tourism results in Croatia have already almost reached the total data of the peak year of 2019. By the end of September, 18.7 million tourists spent 102 million nights in the Adriatic state. Most of them came from Germany, Slovenia and Austria, Hungary was the seventh largest sending country.
The number of Hungarian guests was 696,000, an increase of 20 percent, and the 3.5 million guest nights they spent was 17 percent more than last year’s entire year. This year, a Hungarian tourist spent an average of 5 days in Croatia.
