The export of French wines reached a record
The export of French wines and spirits reached a record last year. Sales increased by 8.5 percent, with more than one billion euros, primarily due to Chinese and American interest – the French exporters’ association announced on Tuesday.
In 2017, France exported 198.6 million of wine boxes (12 bottles) and spirits, 5 percent more than in 2016. The turnover rose by 8.6 percent to 12.9 billion euros in 2017.
Similarly to the previous year, exports were mainly driven by cognac, by 8.7 percent in volume, and by 10.8 percent in circulation, but the exports of wine increased as well, by 6 percent in volume and by 9.6 percent in value. (MTI)
