Tourism broke a record last year in Paris
Despite the violent protests against the French government’s economic policy in November, a record 50 million tourists visited Paris last year, which is an increase of almost four percent compared to 2017.
The visitors spent 21.5 billion euros in the French capital, according to the data of the tourism committee of the Ile-de-France region.
Last year’s record was mainly due to the return of foreign tourists to Paris, after the decline occured following the 2015 terrorist attacks. A nine-percent increase occured over the year. (MTI, Venczel Katalin)
