Dutch agricultural exports set a record thanks to increased sales of flowers and pork
According to data from the Dutch Central Statistics Office and the Wageningen Economic Research Center, agricultural exports in the Netherlands set a new record last year, growing by 4.6 percent to 94.5 billion euros (about 312,000 billion forints) in 2019, the local press wrote on Friday.
About two-thirds of the increase came from price increases and one-third from the increase in sales volume.
According to the report, horticulture was the most successful export sector for Dutch agriculture last year. In particular, exports of fresh-flowered flowers, tulip bulbs and other ornamental plants increased, reaching around 9.5 billion euros last year. (MTI)
