Inflation continues to rise in the UK
Twelve-month consumer inflation (CPI) excluding housing costs was 5.4 percent last month, up 5.1 percent in November, 4.2 percent in October and 3.1 percent in September, according to a report by the British Bureau of Statistics (ONS) on Wednesday.
The ONS highlights that the December data is highest twelve-month inflation rate since the monthly measurement of annual inflation began in January 1997 with the current methodology. (Kertész Róbert, MTI)
