Record breaking CMS in Berlin
14 thousand people visited the largest trade exhibition of the cleaning industry held in Berlin in mid-September. 343 exhibitors from 25 countries attended the four day event. Prospects in Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary were discussed at one of the conferences. This years CMS (Cleaning, Management, Services) exhibition was the largest ever, reflecting the dynamic development taking place in the industry, with total revenues exceeding EUR 11 billion in Germany alone. The only Hungarian exhibitor, BKIK-ÉPSZÓ appeared in Hall 2. Tibor Ritz, an accomplished organiser of professional training programs spoke about the advantages of such programs, which are essential to the development of the industry. According to the latest survey, 3000 enterprises were active in the cleaning business in Hungary in 2002, almost all of them SME-s, whereas the first specialised textbook (Step by step cleaning) was published in 2007. Winfried Brandt, director of the VDMA cleaning organisation was very happy with the result of this year’s CMS. The largest number of foreign visitors came from Italy, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Poland. Regarding business, 94 per cent of them were satisfied with the exhibition., especially the large number of new products and services.
