Croatia is expecting a record summer
The 2025 summer season promises unprecedented air traffic in Croatia, where direct flights will arrive from a total of 122 foreign cities from the end of March to the end of October. According to the forecast of the Croatian National Tourist Board, 485 domestic and international flights will be launched at the country’s airports on a weekly basis – this is a 2% increase compared to the previous summer schedule. The goal: to make travel to the Adriatic coast even easier – points out Pénzcentrum.
Zadar in one hour – with a direct flight from Budapest
It is also good news for Hungarian tourists that direct flights from Budapest to Zadar will be available again from the summer of 2025. Ryanair operates flights three times a week – on Fridays, Sundays and a third day – from the beginning of June to the end of September, so a beach holiday can be easily organized even for a long weekend. The flight time is only 1 hour 15 minutes, making Zadar a quick and convenient destination even for those who can only escape from everyday life for a few days.
The Adria is also accessible by train
Rail options are not left out: according to MÁV, the Adria InterCity, which departs from Budapest to Split, will be operating again this year – although the exact schedule is not yet known. The night flight, which has been popular for years, may be an ideal choice for those who want to reach the Adriatic coast comfortably, while sleeping. From Split, you can easily reach many popular holiday destinations, such as the islands of Brač and Hvar, as well as Trogir, Makarska or Omiš.
The Retro Istria express train, which was a great success last year, may also return. The flight, which offers a special atmosphere, is aimed at those who want to feel nostalgic, but it can also be a practical solution for those who visit the smaller, atmospheric towns of the Istrian peninsula
