Retail sales in the United States grew at a record rate in May
Retail and hospitality sales grew at a record rate in May in the United States after a sharp decline in the previous two months as another sign that the recession caused by the coronavirus pandemic has come to an end or is at least coming to an end.
The U.S. Department of Commerce announced on Tuesday that the seasonally and calendar-adjusted value of retail sales and hospitality was 485.5 billion USD in May, which is 72.9 billion USD, higher (17.7 percent), compared to the previous month. (MTI)
