A record amount of beer was brewed in the Czech Republic last year
A record 21.3 million hectoliters of beer were brewed last year in the Czech Republic, which is a 4.7 percent annual growth, after the previous year’s decline – the Association of Czech Breweries announced in Prague on Tuesday.
Growth was mainly driven by exports, which increased by 11.8 percent last year. Domestic consumption increased more moderately, by 2.9 percent. According to statistics, Czech citizens drank 141 liters of beer per person last year, seven tankards more than in 2017. (MTI, Kokes János)
