Rekord weak grape harvest in Italy
This year's harvest in Italy was the worst of the last more than sixty years, but according to the grape growers, the quality of the wine is promising, due to the exceptionally hot and dry September.
The volume of the wine became 4.03 billion liters, 14 percent less than in the last year, so it does not reach the 4.76 billion liters annual average of the 2001-2010 period. Last time it was in 1948, that the quantity of produced wine was similarly low, 4.04 billion gallons – reports MTI.
