Liszt Ferenc International Airport is preparing for a record year – the summer schedule brings a new peak
Budapest Airport is preparing for the 2025 summer season with a wider and more diverse flight offer than ever before: the airport, which is already part of the VINCI Airports network this year, offers 136 destinations with direct flights, with a total of 13.8 million seats – this is a historical record in the life of Liszt Ferenc International Airport – writes Turizmus.com.
The new summer schedule, which comes into effect on March 30, brings with it the launch of eleven new flights, including several new destinations, as well as the integration of new airline partners into the Budapest air transport network.
Eleven new flights – new markets, new partners
Among the novelties of the summer season, six Wizz Air flights will depart to Bilbao, Girona, Vilnius, Venice, Gdansk and Boroszló. Ryanair offers two new destinations: the cities of Castellón and Katowice. Two new airlines are also launching flights to Budapest: Jazeera Airways will launch flights to Kuwait City, SCAT Airlines to Shimkent, while SAS Scandinavian Airlines will expand its range of available destinations with Copenhagen.
“We are proud to be able to offer our passengers more destinations than ever before this summer. Our new flight development strategy and VINCI Airports’ partner network have already yielded promising results,”
– said Francois Berisot, CEO of Budapest Airport. He added: “The record-breaking offer will not only give a boost to Hungarian travelers, but also to domestic tourism, as international demand for Budapest’s tourist attractions continues to grow.”
Hungary and China: strengthening air relations
The relationship with China is developing particularly dynamically: in the 2025 summer season, 357,300 seats will be available between the two countries, which is 100,000 more than in the same period last year – an increase of 24 percent. This growth reflects the strong economic, trade and tourism ties between Hungary and China and strengthens Budapest’s position as one of the most important air hubs in the region.
