Record wheat crop in Romania
This year, 8.41 million tonnes of wheat was grown in Romania, which is the best harvest in the last ten years – Achim Irimescu Romanian agriculture minister said.
According to the Agerpres news agency 7 percent more wheat was grown compared to last year. The average yield per hectare was 4 tonnes this year, while last year it was 3.84 tonnes. In Romania last year, a total of 7.851 million tonnes of wheat was grown on 2.043 million hectares. (MTI)
