The oven suggests a recipe and the extractor hood rises from the kitchen counter – this could be the household of the future
One of the world’s largest kitchen and bath exhibitions, the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Las Vegas, was recently held. The large-scale exhibition provided an exciting insight into what the kitchens and bathrooms of the future will be like. Remote-controlled washing machines, a service assistant and an oven that suggests recipes based on available ingredients were also featured at the event, where LG also presented its latest developments.
Among the premium built-in kitchen solutions of the new SKS (Signature Kitchen Suite) at the exhibition, an oven with a huge 36-inch cooktop was also debuted. The advanced induction cooktop has no separate zones, meaning you can use the entire hob for cooking. This is the first of its kind on the market: no matter where you place the pots on the hob, you get the same performance. There are also exciting solutions inside the oven: we can prepare dishes with steam technology, and we don’t even have to open the door to check whether the dish is ready, as we can do this from our mobile phone, using the built-in camera.
Another great attraction at the exhibition was the kitchen island called SKS Island System, which may seem like a simple piece of kitchen furniture, but is actually a complete kitchen solution.
The surface that looks like a simple counter at first glance hides an induction hob that blends into the worktop when not in use. Thanks to the so-called air curtain technology, a hood has also been placed in the kitchen island that completely sinks into the kitchen island when not in use.
The excitingly designed appliances also help us decide what to prepare for dinner: the so-called Gourmet AI™ function analyzes the available ingredients and recommends recipes based on this, and automatically sets the ideal temperature and baking or cooking method required for preparation, so that the end result is as perfect as possible.
