New directions in warehousing
In the warehousing sector the regulatory environment is undergoing big changes: the introduction of the Logistics Park certification from 2025 set a new entry threshold, especially for larger capacity providers.

The EU’s CBAM regulation (this extends CO2 emission obligations to imported goods) is going to bring about similarly significant transformation. Automation, robotics, AI-based data analysis and integrated software solutions (e.g., WMS, TMS, TSM) aren’t just a competitive advantage anymore, but also a response to labour shortage and cost pressures. Digital tools that assist in loading planning, site resource management and transport route optimisation are playing a leading role.

Technological innovation has grown a key factor in warehousing
A sustainable vision

Efficient loading plans

Endre Szabó
CEO
GLABs
Endre Szabó, the CEO of GLAB believes the main expectations today are cost optimisation and flexibility, for instance predictable savings and easily scalable resources. GLAB’s portfolio focuses on complex loading plans and management solutions that support the operations of commercial, manufacturing and logistics warehouses. These include TSM, YARD and TMS systems, license plate-based automatic access control, driver self-check-in kiosks, and mobile app and outdoor display based truck call functions.
“We work to ensure that everyone involved in the loading process, from the warehouse to the driver, gets support in their work and we are constantly developing our systems with this in mind”,
explains the CEO.

These days, major international customers expect the greening of the entire logistics chain, digital communication, and a mindset built on strategic partnership
Full-scale automation

Zoltán Horváth
managing director
Jungheinrich Hungária
Jungheinrich Hungária Kft. offers customised intralogistics solutions for the FMCG sector: automated warehouse systems, mobile robots and warehouse management software, and a forklift fleet management system that comprehensively optimises the utilisation of material handling equipment across sites.
“I would like to highlight our paperless, sustainable digital lift log service, which is available as part of our fleet management system. It facilitates legal compliance, makes operations transparent and cuts the administrative burden”,
says managing director Zoltán Horváth.
Pallets aren’t just a means of transport, they are also the cornerstone of efficient logistics and sustainable operations. It is a priority for players in the FMCG sector to use methods that are cost-effective, environmentally friendly and adaptable to the rapidly changing demands of the supply chain.
CHEP pallet rental system
More and more companies are recognising the benefits of the CHEP pallet rental system, especially in light of stricter logistics and sustainability requirements.

“We have designed our pallet rental system to accommodate seasonal fluctuations and deliver real savings in time, storage space and costs”,
reports Sándor Németh, retail sales and asset manager of CHEP Magyarország Kft.
CHEP’s pallet rental system eliminates the need for pallet replacement, making product transfer and collection smooth and labour-saving. CHEP’s pallet rental model is an effective response to sustainability and administrative requirements.
More kinds of pallets

Ferenc Polgár
managing director
P&P Budafok
Ferenc Polgár, managing director of P&P Budafok Kft. tells our magazine that domestic pallet production is currently under strong cost pressure: low sales prices aren’t matched by increased wood, labour and overhead costs.
“We strive to remain competitive in a rapidly changing environment via development and the introduction of new technologies. In recent years we have modernised our manufacturing and logistics processes”,
adds Ferenc Polgár.
Plastic pallets also form part of their product range, primarily due to demand from customers in the food industry. “Smart pallets” have already appeared among EPAL pallets and they are very useful in the fields of order picking, shipping and inspection.
Transforming logistics market
In many industries the in-house handling of logistics isn’t necessarily cost-effective anymore. Sectors such as the pharmaceutical, electronics manufacturing, food retail and automotive industries are often no longer able to meet their warehousing and supply needs with their internal capacities.
“Outsourcing makes it possible for companies to have warehousing and supply chain management jobs done by partners who have the specialised infrastructure, develop all the time and rely on up-to-date expertise. Our goal is to provide our customers not only with a warehouse, but also with complete, secure and well-functioning services”,
says Zoltán Üveges, head of sales and marketing at Raben Trans European Hungary Kft.
