A distributor has recalled a kitchen appliance due to the risk of releasing a carcinogenic substance
Due to the risk of a carcinogenic substance leaching, TEDi Árukereskedelmi Kft. has initiated a recall of the product called Habkanál that it distributes, the National Trade and Consumer Protection Authority (NKFH) announced to MTI on Thursday.
According to the information, the kitchen utensil was found to leach primary aromatic amines (PPA) exceeding the limit value, which is dangerous because the compound can have a carcinogenic effect if it gets into food.
The product recall affects the product called Habkanál, which was sold from December 2023 to June 13 this year.
NKFH asks consumers not to use the product. NKFH is monitoring the destruction or removal of the recalled devices.
