Anikó Raisz: in order to achieve a successful green transition, it is important that the European economy remains competitive
In order to achieve a successful green transition, it is important that the European economy remains competitive, stated Anikó Raisz, the State Secretary responsible for the environment and circular economy of the Ministry of Energy (ME) in a statement given to MTI on Monday.
The state secretary, who participated in the meeting of the EU member states’ ministers responsible for environmental protection in Luxembourg, said: at the council meeting, he presented the environmental protection program of the Hungarian EU presidency starting in July. As he said, during the six-month presidency, they will continue the fight against environmental pollution, and they want to promote a fair form of the green transition, focusing on competitiveness.
Anikó Raisz said that at Monday’s meeting, the member countries adopted a common position on the targeted revision of the framework directive on waste, which focuses on food and textile waste. According to him, these two areas are important because there is a significant environmental burden if the directive is not applied well.
