Program for the revitalisation of the onion production in Makó
The Ministry of Rural Development with the involvement of the producers develops a Makói Onion Program in order to revitalise the worldwide known and high value onion production in Makó.
Fazekas Sándor, Minister of Rural Development said at the International Onion Festival in September, that the onion of Makó has a future, because it has EU GI protection. The Ministry gives any assistance for the selection of the appropriate breeds and breeding, to transport the products to the market, for marketing and with culture and with horticultural applications provides source to the farmers.
