Magazine: Rossmann has profited from Schlecker’s bankruptcy
Schlecker’s bankruptcy made the Rossmann drugstore chain Germany’s second biggest, with a turnover above EUR 5 billion for the first time in company history. In Hungary the first Rossmann store opened in Debrecen in 1993 and since then about 200 more units have been established nationwide. Last year Rossmann refurbished the majority of its stores, modernising stores’ interior design in line with consumer expectations. The company started using its new logistics centre in 2009, which also became the headquarters of the Hungarian affiliate. Rossmann rented more than 27,000m² from Goodman in Üllő for 12 years.
