Bratislava bans beer bikes from April 1, alcohol ban also expanded
Bratislava 2026. From April 1st, the use of so-called beer bikes will be banned in the entire city – the city council unanimously adopted the decree as part of a new package regulating the public sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages.
At the same time, Bratislava is tightening and updating the 2014 alcohol ban: in addition to the existing locations (schools, churches, playgrounds), the prohibited zones also include social institutions, nursing homes, food distribution points, and the surroundings of health and veterinary care facilities.
The regulation does not affect the terraces of licensed catering establishments or those public events for which the capital or the relevant city district grants a special permit for the sale and consumption of alcohol.
