The inspection of the beach buffets ended with positive experiences
The beach buffet inspections carried out during this year’s extended summer seasonal food chain inspection concluded with positive results, the Ministry of Agriculture (AM) stated in its announcement on Tuesday.
In the first two weeks of the two-month series of inspections, beach buffets were inspected by experts, 241 facilities were inspected nationwide. Most of them operate in accordance with the legislation, however, the inspectors also found shortcomings, typically in the field of hygiene – Olga Felkai Beáta, Deputy Secretary of State responsible for food industry and trade policy of the AM, summarized the experiences.
During the renewed, even more complex summer inspections, the experts focus particularly on beach buffets, which are very popular due to the time of year, and were inspected already in the first two weeks of the inspection period, which of course does not mean that the area will remain unsupervised in the future.
The Ministry of Agriculture explained: the focus of the inspection of the beach buffets was the hygienic condition of the restaurants, the traceability and management of the raw materials. Raw materials requiring cooling and adequate cooling capacity also received special attention.
