Magyar Posta Logisztika expanding its portfolio
Magyar Posta Logisztika (MPL) has been the leader in the Hungarian domestic CEP market for years, with a market share of nearly 30 percent in 2008. According to László Bereczki, sales director of the Corporate Clients Division, innovation and the expansion of their portfolio is the key to further growth. –Competition has been very intense in the local CEP market for years. How can you maintain your leading position and continue to increase your market share? – It has been our intention since the formation of MPL to offer comprehensive solutions, including forwarding, warehousing, mailing. We have added a client-specific service portfolio to our existing delivery network and innovative solutions. – You are offering a complete range of services including the EUV service. What was your reason for the introduction of EUV? – We have developed a complex service for the increasing number of wholesalers and mail order retailers we work with. EUV is a cash collection service linked to the delivery of parcels which includes regular reporting on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. – What strategic steps are you planning to take in the future to maintain your market leading position? – We are constantly looking for ways of removing or simplifying the tasks our clients need to perform and of offering more convenience functions. MPL will deliver parcels to any place in the country within 24 hours in the afternoon and on Saturdays as well. We can also send electronic notifications of delivery or arrival. – Why did you need a third logistic warehouse? – Our new modern facility in Fót has been established in place of the two older warehouses. – Will you be able to utilise such a large facility during the present recession? – We want to provide a complex service which helps our clients in increasing the cost-effectiveness of their operations which in turn will help us in maintaining our market position.
