This year, Ádám Novák and László Csonka, the confectioners of Reök in Szeged, won the Egy Csepp Figyelem Alapítvány Egy Csepp Figyelem Alapítvány Sugarless Cake of Hungary competition, which is organized every year with the professional partnership of the Hungarian Confectionery Industry Association. The victory of the “Zöld Málna” cake was announced at a press conference held in Budapest, in the Hunting Hall of the Parliament, where, in addition to the programs on August 20, the Cake of Hungary was announced, which was the confection of confectioner Alfréd Kovács, “Mákvirág”. The winning cakes can be tasted from August 19, when they will be sold in many pastry shops in the country and in Budapest, on Magyar Ízek Utcái.

Hungary’s Sugar-Free Cake competition was organized for the 13th time by the Egy Csepp Figyelem Foundation and the Hungarian Confectionery Industry Association. The pastry chefs primarily used a list of ingredients approved by the National Association of Hungarian Dietitians to prepare their cakes. This year’s winning cake, “Zöld Málna”, was created by Ádám Novák and László Csonka.

The cake is red like a raspberry, green like a pistachio, elegant like a rose: the winners play with colors in their light creations. The pleasantly sweet taste of the green pistachio mousse is complemented by the acidity of the bright red raspberry jelly, and the rose water makes it even more special. The pistachio is crunchy with the white chocolate and also appears in the sponge in the form of flour. The cake is crowned with bright, rosewater raspberry jelly and dried rose petals.

The energy content of one slice of “Green Raspberry” is 232.4 kcal, while the carbohydrate value is 10.5 g, so it can be a good choice for diabetics, but we recommend it to everyone who is careful about the ingredients of what they eat. Laboratory analyzes of the cake were carried out by Eurofins Food and Feed testing Hungary.

The winner received the main prize of 77 Elektronika Kft., the main sponsor of the Egy Csepp Figyelem Foundation, the developer and manufacturer of Dcont® blood glucose meters, a gift voucher worth HUF 100,000 that can be redeemed for confectionery equipment.

The second prize of the competition was also won by the winner’s cake called “Spicy Vilmos”, the third prize went to László Gyuris and Ferenc Reisinger, confectioners of Virág Cukrászda and Kávéház in Szeged, for the creation of the cake called “Intuíció”.
