Ecostat's TOP-100 index for sentiment
at Hungary's biggest hundred companies fell to 84.6 percent in the
second quarter from 90.2 percent in the first quarter. Its measure of
confidence among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) dropped to
85.3 percent from 90.5 percent. One-third of the biggest hundred
companies said business had grown in the past quarter. Half said it
was unchanged.
Forty percent of SMES planned to boost output,
about the same that planned to keep it unchanged. One-quarter of SMEs

remain unchanged. The outlook for all Hungarian companies was little
