Bunzl Group offers comprehensive green solutions to partners
Since the European Parliament and the European Council decided to ban single-use plastics from 2021, members of the Bunzl Group have been busy assisting partners in introducing eco-friendly alternatives. Bunzl Group uses paper and degradable plastic to make food delivery boxes, plates, cups, cutlery and drinking straws, etc. which partners can get within the framework of a flexible and complex service.
Why are bioplastics better than traditional plastics? Because they are polymers made of natural corn or other starch and wheat bran, which usually come from sustainable or renewable sources. Natural raw materials and the innovative technology used in production are a bit costly, so green products are a little more expensive, but let’s not forget that using them can also have a prestige value.
Bunzl Group has replaced simple product selling with a full service that includes consultancy, education, testing, waste management advisory and solutions. Serving partners efficiently requires a well-working business structure: this is the reason why Silwell és Propack Kft. (food packaging) and Bunzl Magyarország Kft. (safety at work and hygiene) will merge at the end of October 2020. The new company is going to satisfy partner needs even better, thanks to the joint product portfolio and the utilisation of synergies. (x)
