The mayor of Paris has ordered the closure of grocery and liquor stores at 10 p.m.
“At 10 p.m., these units will be closed because they have experienced problems in many cases,” the mayor told BFM news television.
Further austerity measures for Paris and its suburbs were decided on Wednesday night by the mayor, Prefect Didier Lallement, who is expected to issue a decree on the matter later in the day.
Anne Hidalgo declined that this would be a curfew, as other street activities are not subject to the 10-hour curfew. (Venczel Katalin, MTI)
