Coop Sweden To Introduce Paper Bags For Fruit And Vegetables
Coop Sweden has announced plans to replace single-use plastic bags for fruit and vegetables with paper bags by the spring of next year.
The initiative will help the retailer to reduce the company’s annual plastic consumption by approximately 300 tonnes.
The free-of-cost cardboard bags can be reused as food waste bags or recycled as paper, the retailer said.
The bags are more robust and suitable for carrying heavier fruits and vegetables such as potatoes and onions.
