André Palóc: the minimum wage will increase by more than 40 percent in the coming years
As a result of the wage agreement concluded last year, the minimum wage will increase by 9 percent in 2025, 13 percent in 2026, and 14 percent in 2027, which is an increase of more than 40 percent in three years, the spokesperson for the Ministry of National Economy said on the M1 current affairs channel on Sunday.
André Palóc added that the minimum wage has a constraining effect on wages, and that real wages are also increasingly increasing as a result. The latter is important because the decrease in real wages that inflation took away after the outbreak of the war must be rebuilt, he added.
The spokesperson indicated that there was a sustained increase in real wages last year, and this is expected this year as well. The government’s 21-point economic policy action plan is also about ensuring that the purchasing power of wages can actually increase this year.
André Palóc recalled that the minimum wage had increased fourfold and the average wage more than threefold compared to 2010. The spokesperson described all of this as a very massive increase.
