Hungarian tourists flock to Croatia
Already in the first four months, the number of guest nights of Hungarian tourists in Croatia increased by a fifth compared to the record period a year earlier, and a similarly rising level is expected throughout the year, the Hungarian director of the Croatian Tourist Board announced at a press conference in Budapest on Tuesday.
Ivana Herceg reported that by the end of April, 40,000 Hungarian tourists had spent 122,000 nights in Croatia, which is a 9 percent increase in the number of guests and an 18 percent increase in the number of guest nights compared to the first four months of 2023.
He reminded that 728,000 Hungarian travelers arrived in Croatia last year, which was considered a record, 21 percent more than in 2022. The number of Hungarian guest nights last year was close to 3.6 million, which is a 17 percent increase compared to the previous year.
As before, the Kvarner region was visited this year by most Hungarians, but the region of Istria and Zadar was also popular. Among the most popular settlements are Opatija (Opatija), Zagreb, Icici, Zadar and Rovinj – listed the tourism specialist.
