The world's largest retailer is fifty years old
Sam Walton opened the first Wal-Mart store on the 2nd of July 1962. Since then, Wal-Mart has become the world's largest retailer – mfor.hu writes.
In 2001, Wal-Mart became America's number one retailer network under the directorate of H. Lee Scott Jr. CEO, gaining a 16 percent retail share within the United States.
Wal-Mart is the world's 16th largest company on the list of Forbes magazine: its market value is 208.4 billion USD, and its sales is the second highest on the Forbes list with 447 billion USD. (mfor.hu)
