World Homeless Pets Day: Mars promotes adoption
Mars draws attention to the hundreds of thousands of homeless dogs living in Hungary and the importance of adoption on the occasion of World Homeless Pets Day.
One of the world’s leading confectionery, food and pet food manufacturers has been at the forefront of supporting animal shelters in the region for years; on World Day on August 20, it also stands up for adoption and education about responsible animal husbandry, thus supporting homeless pets.
The third Saturday of August is World Homeless Pets Day. While according to Mars’ latest research conducted by Ipsos MORI, the number of adoptions increased drastically during the coronavirus epidemic, and almost every second Hungarian household now has a dog, today in Hungary there are still approx. There are 300,000 homeless dogs. Animal shelters and adoption support are key to improving the plight of homeless pets, but Mars is also supporting the cause with awareness campaigns for prospective owners and publicly available online background materials.
