InBev prepares heavy investment for Belgian breweries
InBev is looking to invest up to EUR60m in operations at three of its breweries.
The Belgium-based beer giant confirmed that it will plough
the money into its Hoegaarden, Jupille and Leuven breweries, based in its home
market, over the next 12 months.
The move is in response to "the international success
of Stella Artois and Hoegaarden, the growth of Jupiler in The Netherlands and
successful brand innovations", the company said.
While Hoegaarden will become exclusively a white beer brewer
as part of the changes, Jupille will see its capacity increased through the
transfer of white beer production to Hoegaarden. At the Leuven facility,
meanwhile, InBev will ramp up its export capability with investments in brewing
and packaging capacity.
