The pea yield increased by one-fifth
In Hungary, 88 thousand tons of green peas were produced on 20.6 thousand hectares in 2019, while in 2018 90 thousand tons according to KSH data. This year – despite the slightly declining production area – the amount harvested may increase significantly, as the cooler May weather favored green peas. It is also true, however, that the harvest was hampered by the June rain. (napi.hu, Tóth László Levente)
