Carlsberg’s after-tax profit dropped to its one-fifth
The turnover and profit of the Danish brewery group declined in the fourth quarter, mainly due to stagnation of sales in Eastern Europe.
In volume, sales fell by 5 percent, revenues slightly decreased, to 13.40 billion kroner. Within Western Europe, largely stagnated around 8.45 billion kroner. Revenues decreased in Eastern Europe to 3.49 billion, fom the 4.10 billion of a year earlier, The 200 percent consumption tax in Russia played a major role in this decline. After-tax profits fell by 21 percent from 383 million to 301 million kroner – reports mfor.hu.
