Agricultural product prices were up by twenty percent
In August 2010 the production price level of agricultural products surged by 20.1 percent, compared to the level of August 2009 – vegetable product prices soared by 31.7 percent and the prices of livestock and products of animal origin grew by 3.2 percent. KSH’s quick report reveals that in August 2010 the production price of cereals was 33.8 percent higher than in August 2009.
The procurement price of wheat – mostly from the new harvest – was HUF 41,900 per ton, HUF 10,600 higher than in the previous month; the price of corn was HUF 39,100. Potato and vegetable production prices increased by 65.5 and 21.2 percent, respectively. Slaughter livestock’s production price was 4.9 percent lower, but the price of products of animal origin were 8.2 percent higher.
