NAV seized five thousand bottles of fake perfume
Employees of the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) prevented more than five thousand bottles of fake perfume from entering the market by checking the Komárom-Esztergom county section of the M1 highway, the press representative of the organization’s regional directorate told MTI on Thursday.
According to Gergő Tóth, two thousand bottles of fake perfume were found in a car with a Polish license plate. The clues led to a warehouse in Budapest, where another three thousand bottles of fake products were found. Also found in the warehouse were the seals used to seal the trucks, a fake stamp, waybills and invoices.
Based on the evidence, the NAV investigators identified the organizer who was connected to the crime, who was sentenced to a suspended prison term by the court due to the violation of industrial property rights. The fake product was confiscated and destroyed.
