Hungarian consumer confidence at five year high
In the third quarter of 2015 the Hungarian consumer confidence index was at 61 points – this is the highest value of the last five years. The index grew 6 points from the second quarter and this was one of the biggest jumps forward in the 64 countries surveyed worldwide. In Europe (32 countries surveyed) the index moved up from 79 to 81 points. The global average grew from 96 to 99 percent and this is the highest-ever value in the history of Nielsen’s index, which started in 2005. In Hungary willingness to purchase grew from 17 (Q2 2015) to 21 percent (Q3 2015), in the personal finances sentiment the proportion of optimists increased from 22 to 24 percent, and in job prospects the ratio of optimists rose from 13 to 14 percent.
