The international success story of Rondo Ganahl AG continues: In 2026, the group’s innovative packaging concepts received a total of five WorldStar Packaging Awards. Customized packaging concepts from several locations in the group were honored in the categories of transport, point of sale, luxury goods and alcoholic beverages.

The WorldStar Packaging Award is the industry’s most important international packaging award. With the awards, the World Packaging Organisation recognizes pioneering packaging concepts worldwide and thus sets international standards in terms of excellence in design, functionality and sustainability. The winners were announced on January 9, 2026, and the awards ceremony will take place on May 8, 2026 at the Interpack trade fair in Düsseldorf.

The five WorldStar Packaging Awards 2026 won by Rondo convincingly underline the high level of development competence of the entire group of companies, which spans multiple locations and countries. “These awards confirm our commitment to developing unique, sustainable and market-oriented packaging solutions at the international top level. The five awards, which recognize innovations from Frastanz, St. Ruprecht and Budapest, are powerful proof of the performance and commitment of our teams at all our locations,” says Hubert Marte, CEO of Rondo Ganahl AG, who is delighted with the multiple successes.

Biocat KS-C – Heavy-duty transport packaging

Category winner: Transport | Frastanz location (Austria)

The packaging for the Biocat KS-C device convinced the jury with its consistently well-thought-out design for global transport. Rigid fixing wedges at the top and bottom securely fix the device, while the MC honeycomb plate allows flexible adaptation to three different device lengths. The foldable side wall allows for easy assembly and lifting of the device upwards.

Two separate accessory boxes ensure safe storage and protect the sensitive casing of the descaler. The optimized dimensions allow for precise and stable palletization on Euro pallets. The packaging is entirely mono-material, i.e. single-material packaging, and combines robustness, efficiency and sustainability in a transport solution that can be used worldwide.

Bauers Bitter – Selection Box

Category winner: Point of Sale | St. Ruprecht location (Austria)

The five-bottle selection box for the noble bitter drops combines aesthetic appeal with high functionality. The design, reminiscent of handmade wooden crates, uses brown corrugated cardboard and a subtle, stamp-like graphic that highlights the product’s artisanal nature and enhances its appearance on store shelves.

The packaging consists of three interlocking parts and is made entirely without adhesives. Each bottle is securely fastened, so the box can be used as both sales and gift packaging, as well as stable shipping packaging. After removing the inlay, the box can also be used as a storage or souvenir box – providing additional added value for customers.

Transport tray for mirror motors

Category winner: Shipping | St. Ruprecht site (Austria)

The newly developed transport tray for mirror motors completely replaces the previous polystyrene solution and is made of 100% corrugated cardboard. The packaging is specifically designed for automated use: the motors are inserted using a robot, so the highest level of precision and stability is required for continued use of the existing automation infrastructure.

The central feature is the extremely high torsional (twisting) stiffness. The triangular stiffeners, inspired by the principles of bridge construction, ensure maximum load-bearing capacity with minimal material consumption. The trays can be stacked up to 40 layers, with the bottom layer able to withstand a load of up to 400 kg.
