VAT on organic food was reduced to five percent in Romania
In Romania, the minimum VAT rate on food products classified as traditional products and organic foods and on traditional non-alcoholic beverages is reduced to 5 percent.
According to Prime Minister Viorica Dancila, the measure aims to make the “high quality, healthy food” more popular for Romanian consumers, encouraging them to eat healthy. (Baranyi László, MTI)
