A five percent decline in the packaging industry
An about 5 percent drop was measured in the first half of this year in the Hungarian packaging industry. The main problem beside the general economic problems is the unfavorable change of the environmental product fee, which makes disadvantage to the domestic producers against importers.
The quantity of products used in packaging industry decreased by nearly 5 percent in the first half of this year in Hungary. In addition, despite the decline, the volume of imported packaging materials increased by about 5 percent, and the share of imported products increased from 43 to 46 percent, compared to the previous year.
