Five smart logistics trends that will determine the domestic development of e-commerce in 2023
The demand for same-day delivery is even greater than before, many customers are no longer satisfied with half-day time windows, and with the increase in energy prices and inflation, cost-effectiveness in the performance of delivery tasks has become even more important for businesses. Due to the memory of last year’s hot, dry summer, the enforcement of sustainability aspects has increased significantly, and in order to retain customers, companies are paying more attention to the personal qualities of couriers. According to the experts of the international smart logistics and technology company DODO, which provides same-day home delivery, these trends will determine the development of e-commerce and home deliveries in 2023.
The changes that have occurred in the past year have created new challenges for those involved in e-commerce. Rising energy prices force the players in the segment to operate cost-effectively, while rising fuel prices can also see a huge increase in delivery costs. As a result, route optimization and the elimination of unnecessary routes have become even more important during home delivery. In many cases, as a result of the amendments to the tax laws, the employment costs of businesses have risen significantly, and with the release of inflation, retaining customers has become an even more important and difficult task.
