Euro area inflation rose in April to a five-month peak
In April, euro area inflation rose to 1.7 percent, to a five-month peak, on the basis of Eurostat’s final data released by Eurostat on Friday.
In April, the annual rate of increase in consumer prices rose from the 1.4 percent of March to 19 percent in the euro area – according to preliminary data and in line with market expectations.
April’s 1.7 percent five-month inflation is the highest in the euro area. One year before, in April 2018, it was 1.2 percent. (MTI)
