Inflation in Germany is on a five-month high
In December, German inflation rose to a five-month high – according to a report released Thursday by the German Federal Bureau of Statistics, Destatis.
According to the final data of Destatis, consumer prices in Germany rose 1.5 percent in December 2019, according to preliminary data. Compared to the previous month, consumer prices also increased by 0.5 percent, according to the preliminary data.
In the previous two months, November and October, the annual price increase was 1.1 percent. The 1.5 percent inflation rate in December has been the highest since July, when it was 1.7 percent year-on-year. (MTI)
