Nearly 4 million tons of autumn wheat and 8 million tons of maize crop is expected
According to the preliminary estimates; 3.9 million tonnes of autumn wheat and 8.1 million tons of maize crop is expected this year – told the Agriculture Directorate of the Agricultural Office (MgSzH).
The harvested area of the autumn wheat is 952 thousand hectares, which is nearly 59 thousand hectares less than last year's harvested area. According to the status of August; 94 percent of the 896 thousand hectares of wheat was harvested with a yield of 4,238 kilograms per hectare.
Maize harvested on 1224 hectares, this is nearly 145 thousand hectares more than last year's harvest area. According to the July 27 preliminary estimation; 8.1 million tons of maize crop is expected this year with a yield of 6,622 kilograms per hectare – reports vallalkozoinegyed.hu.
