Farkas Sándor, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture told that the government pays special attention to the farmer society and the countryside. Over the past three years, it has consistently and decisively represented the interests of Hungarian farmers throughout the negotiations on the reform of the EU’s common agricultural policy, and the negotiations have been successfully concluded. In addition, the government made a historic decision to increase the domestic co-financing of the Rural Development Program from 17.5 to 80 percent, thus providing more resources to domestic agriculture than ever before.
