More than 100 Lidl stores nationwide join the Food Bank’s fundraising drive
Lidl Hungary is joining the Hungarian Food Bank Association’s fundraising campaign on May 9th and 10th with more than 100 stores nationwide. The donations offered by customers will be received and delivered to those in need by the Food Bank volunteers in the coming weeks. Every bit of help counts, even a single can, a bag of rice or a bar of chocolate can be an important element of a donation package.
Help always comes at a good time, and this is also true for the upcoming summer period, which is why Lidl Hungary felt it important to join the Hungarian Food Bank Association’s spring food fundraising campaign, providing its customers with the opportunity to help. As part of the collection, on Friday, May 9, 2025, between 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and on Saturday, May 10, between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., volunteers from the Food Bank will receive non-perishable food items at collection points located behind the cash registers in more than 100 Lidl stores.
“As a responsible company, supporting those in need is of utmost importance to us. As part of our comprehensive donation program, we help those in need with food and non-food donations with the help of our partner organizations. We have been closely cooperating with the Food Bank for years through our food rescue program. We are pleased that Lidl is joining one of the largest food collection initiatives in the country, as we consider it important to provide our customers with the opportunity to help and thereby support as many people in need as possible,”
– emphasized Judit Tőzsér, the company’s communications manager.
For those in need, canned goods, rice, pasta and matching sauces, baby food, jams and preserves are the greatest help, while biscuits and chocolate can also bring great happiness to children. Customers can help disadvantaged people in their environment with their donations, as the Food Bank, in collaboration with charitable organizations operating in the vicinity of each store, delivers the food to disadvantaged people, especially the elderly, large families and single-parent households. In addition, recipients of family support services and children’s homes, people with disabilities, the homeless and residents of the most disadvantaged settlements in the country will also benefit from the donations.
