2,800 rural cafeterias across the country can call on HUF one million subsidies
From October 15, 2,800 rural cafeterias open all year round can apply for a total of HUF 2.8 billion worth of non-refundable funds. Applicants can spend HUF one million support per store on the purchase of modern kitchen technology and smaller equipment and supplies necessary for daily operations. But they can be used for developments that support energy-efficient and economical operation, or even for larger investments. The tender, which runs until November 30, is now the fifth stage of the HUF 13 billion program launched by the Government of Hungary to support rural restaurants.
Tourism is one of the driving sectors of the Hungarian economy, the sector’s contribution to the national economy is more than 12%. The social importance of the industry is clearly demonstrated by the fact that nearly a hundred thousand small and medium-sized enterprises operate in it, so tourism provides a livelihood for about 400 thousand families in our country. At the suggestion of the Hungarian Tourism Agency, in order to further strengthen the sector, the government announced its high-value development tender in May this year. The purpose of the support program is to mitigate the relative competitive disadvantage of rural service providers as a result of the regional concentration of domestic tourism. In earlier stages, rural restaurants, pastry shops, music and dance clubs, casual catering shops, coffee houses and catering establishments specializing in non-alcoholic drinks that were open all year round could call for support. In the further stages of the program, liquor stores and bars will be able to submit their requirements.
The tenderers draw attention to the fact that the program allows a maximum of 2,800 applications to be accepted, so it does not matter when the applicants submit their requirements. The order is determined on a first-come, first-served basis. At the same time, due to the large number of buffets open all year round in rural areas, the current announcement provides a longer period for applications. Operators can submit their requests through the system of the National Tourist Information Center until November 30.
Participation requires minimal administration, which is also assisted by customer service.
