National Trade Association: starting from Saturday, stores may crowded
Customers are more careful, they did not bring their Easter shopping as far in advance as before, so especially busy days can be expected in the stores from Saturday, the Secretary General of the National Trade Association (OKSZ) told MTI.
György Vámos indicated that January and February are the two months with the lowest traffic of the year, and retail trade always picks up in the period before Easter. According to the general secretary, this year it can also be expected that the turnover of foodstuffs, but also of manufactured goods, will increase compared to the past months.
Compared to the same period of the previous year, consumers will of course leave more in the stores at the current price, and in terms of the quantity of goods purchased, they are confident that there will be product groups where the volume of retail sales will reach the level of the previous year – said the Secretary General of OKSZ. He added that this range also includes price-stop products, because they are partly related to the Easter festive meal.
