National school fruit scheme starts with Lazytown
The National School Fruit Scheme starts in September this year. 75 percent of the Hungarian schools are participating in the EU-funded program. The school fruit scheme, started 5 years ago, and more and more schools are participating from year to year. In the progrm on a weekly basis, more than 500,000 1-6. grade children receive fresh fruits and vegetables.
According to the policy of the EU regulation, the School Fruit Scheme should be added educational elements that kids to accustom to regular and joyful movement – already at an early age and to draw the children’s attention to the importance of healthy nutrition.
