Russian taxes vs. brewers

Several large breweries asked the Russian government not to increase the tax on beer any further. This step would contribute to a growth in production. For instance Anheuser-Busch InBev also asked the Russian Minister of Economy to freeze the beer tax and not to raise it by 11 percent from January. Brewers hope that the government will do the same as in the case of spirits and ease the tax burden.
