Local farmers adopted
One of the recent trends in countries with a highly developed gastronomic culture has been that restaurant owners and farmers join forces. For example, the Loews Hotels chain has launched a campaign called „Adopt a farmer!” in the US which is intended to support local farmers and to ensure a supply of fresh, usually organic products. In their Miami hotel, they use fruits of the sea supplied exclusively by a local enterprise, while Coronado Bay Resort in San Diego has a garden of its own and buys everything else from 12 local farms. Coronado has also launched a series of promotional dinners under the title „Farmers, Foragers and Fishermen” where guests and farmers can discuss the products served.
